Reynolds 953 stainless steel

Reynolds 953 represents another giant step in steel alloy technology. It combines the best features of the entire materials world:

• High Strength
• Corrosion Resistance
• Both weldable and brazeable with air-hardening characteristics
• High elongation for long life and a great ride.
• Customizability
• High quality control

Though just introduced to the bicycle world, Reynolds 953 has already set a new standard of performance for custom bicycle frame building and selected components. As it continues to develop, 953 comes in an increasing array of tube choices, allowing an increasing range of sizes and ride characteristics.

Though 953 allows us to build a fully corrosion-resistant frame, it also lets us offer hybrid frames, where we build with, let's say, 33-Series S3 main tubes and Reynolds 953 stays for a quick acceleration and a light, comfortable and corrosion-resistant rear-end.

The Revolutionary 33-Series Waterfords

The Waterford 33-Series technology builds off developments by True Temper with considerable input from Waterford. This technology consists of specially formulated OX Platinum alloy, dimensioned and shaped to optimize performance and functionality. It represents the full exploitation of the strengths designed into the new generation of air hardening steel alloys.

• S3-tubes have a special level of heat treating to improve the strength and durability without increasing weight.
• As a result of these improved metallurgical properties, tough tubing can be crafted into dimensions not possible with earlier alloys, allowing the development of stiff but light weight structures with excellent torsional rigidity.
• The bi-oval downtube emphasizes lateral stiffness at the bottom bracket and enhanced strength at the head tube.
• Other components of the tubeset are specially lightened where appropriate to give competitors that extra edge, including the head tube, chainstays, BB and dropouts. Waterford has examined and re-examined every opportunity to improve performance.

Keyed to competitive riders, the 33-Series frames offer lighter weights and faster acceleration than Waterford's other technologies. Waterford can also create a unique and appropriate road feel through its careful design of steering geometry, management of weight distribution and selection from its broad selection of tubing options.

The 22 Series with Legendary Lug Construction:

Waterford's wide array of lug designs and options let you make an enduring statement about classic bike design. Our precision investment-cast lugs, carefully hand silver-brazed, blend a traditional look with with our state of the art custom heat treated air-hardening tubesets. No matter how classic the look, you get today's demanding performance.

Waterford now offers a wide variety of lug options, including:

Waterford's clean and proven Low-Profile lugset: These lugs set the standard for clean design,
flexible application and unique features and offer a wide range of fit, including a surprising degree of top tube slope. They are also available with integrated cable guides, both for brake and derailleur cables.

This patented technology eliminates many of the bosses on the top and down tube, achieving a clean look with easier maintenance.

14-Series OS2 - High-performance Custom Dream Bikes within your Reach

The advent of heat-treated air-hardening steels has allowed us to reach for the limits of the materials, as we've done with the 33-Series technology. In the process of this work, we discovered simpler, more economical improvements we can make which still offer improved strength and rigidity at lower weights than more traditional tube designs. Hence OS2 - our tubing system for the 14-series. Its thinner walls and wider diameters than OS tubing give riders additional torsional rigidity and without while droping weight. The round cross sections, lower heat treat levels and slightly thicker walls makes it more forgiving to build and to own than the 33's.
